Mood:  a-ok
Topic: Hypnosis & Psychology

An amazing UFO video has popped up on YouTube in which an unidentified flying object is chased by other aircraft as a stunned family watches the action.

How green zealots are destroying the planet!
Mood:  bright
Topic: Global Warming

Just imagine a world where you never had to worry about global warming, where the ice caps, the ‘drowning’ Maldives and the polar bears were all doing just fine.

Imagine a world where CO2 was our friend, fossil fuels were a miracle we should cherish, and economic growth made the planet cleaner, healthier, happier and with more open spaces.

Actually, there’s no need to imagine: it already exists. So why do so many people still believe otherwise?

In more secular societies, the religious and the non-religious are equally well-off.

Does My Partner Belong to Me? The Justification for Jealousy
Mood:  chatty
Topic: Emotions

Romantic jealousy is often perceived to express our fear of losing an important human being who belongs to us; accordingly, jealousy is criticized for regarding another person as our property. However, it seems that the meaning of possession indicated here may not be mechanical, like when I say that I own a car, but a psychological one, which implies that I deserve to exclusively have certain types of relationships. The presence of the psychological meaning is indicated by the fact that the loss in jealousy is not accidental; it is rather an expression of a deliberate preference for another over me. Accordingly, jealous people do not treat their mates as an inanimate object, but as free responsible people able to make reasonable choices.
