Launching the Christmas season this year, and featuring in our festive playlist, we have the new EP from Cornell Kinderknecht entitled 'Season of Peace'.
Season of Peace is a six-song instrumental EP album of music for the Christmas and holiday season. The album features woodwinds layered over piano and keyboard accompaniment, all instruments performed by Cornell. Five of the songs are gently nuanced traditional holiday favorites: We Three Kings, The First Noel, Huron Carol, O Holy Night, and Coventry Carol. The final song is the soulful Winter Blue, one of Kinderknecht’s own seasonal compositions. The Native American Style flute takes the solo spotlight through most of the tracks. Soprano saxophone and bass recorder each get a feature track as well.

'Traumreise' the forthcoming EP from Tonbild, now featuring on Moon Phase Radio.
Tonbild is the alias of Norwegian pop artist Joaquin, who has been releasing music since 2003. Tonbild creates dreamy midnight music with atmospheric drifting pads. Inspired by modern ambient music and mellow movie soundtracks.

'Liquid Gold' the recent album from WID, now featuring on Moon Phase Radio.
From a teenager's dream in the Bavarian town of Miesbach to worldwide live performances with a band and now to their own music studio in France - Brittany. On the edge of the continent, where wind and waves rub against singing rocks. Christopher Widmoser - everyone calls him »WiD« - was fascinated by sound and sound as a child and knew that music would be his life.
At the age of 21 he was on international stages. As a guitarist for the Barbara Dennerlein Band, he toured around the world for almost a decade. WiD inspired the audience with unusual colors and nuances that he elicited from the guitar; and yet he was not satisfied with his own performance - always "in search of the perfect tone". The foundation of his band "Dreaming Boy" was another milestone in the life story of WiD. With his own compositions and arrangements, he played concerts in all European countries.
“Jazz music was the form of expression for a while. The savor of doing something that had its own time. However, it didn't really fill me ..., ”admits the professional musician. Withdrawing from the limelight to create space for awareness was therefore essential ...
... here is a life story that led to a development with the right mix of speed, timing and breathing. A breath that rhythmizes the time and thus integrates itself into it. And it was time to listen to the inner source and bring that unique music into the world. Sound phenomena. This is why the music studio in Brittany was created - at the singing rocks.

'Luminary' the recent album from Cheryl B. Engelhardt, now featuring on Moon Phase Radio.
Cheryl B. Engelhardt is a composer and songwriter. The New Yorker battled panic attacks & looked for audio to help quell the anxiety. Cheryl wrote her solution, the stunning album, "Luminary" (music for mindfulness,focus, & growth) during an artists’ residency in an abandoned mountain town in Greece as the solution. “Luminary” is her fifth record, a collection of piano/ambient music and for mindfulness, focus, and growth which hit #1 on iTunes and Amazon New Age charts. "Background Music was made almost entirely with generative software. Rules, instrumentation and scripting were applied to computer generated algorithms and external hardware and software were later brought into the mix. This was then edited and arranged. It was a very different way of working for me and it definitely took my music to places I wouldn't usually go. The album name suggested itself really upon repeated playbacks. Hope you enjoy it."

The album 'Dreamtime' by Cornell Kinderknecht and Martin McCall now featuring on Moon Phase Radio.
Cornell Kinderknecht is an award-winning recording artist and performer whose music touches the heart and feeds the soul. He has performed at such venues as the prestigious Carnegie Hall in New York City, the magnificent amphitheatre built into the 2000-foot red rock cliffs of Zion Canyon, the underground "Cave Without A Name," Meyerson Symphony Center, and the AT&T Dallas Cowboys Stadium. He is an Indian Summer Music Awards winner and he has twice been nominated as Texas Music Awards "Musician of the Year" for his solo recordings.
Using world flutes like the north Indian bansuri, Native American flute, ocarina, bamboo flute and recorder, among others, his original compositions and playing have been described as soothing, soaring, haunting, and playful with influences of Native America, the Middle East, India, and the Far East. His musical style draws from his experience in the areas of classical, pop, folk, jazz and world music.

We are a group of musicians who write for the love of creating music that serves as a soundtrack to life. We do not want our words to get in the way, so we keep our songs instrumental, for the purpose of letting the song serve the listener where they are at in life. Whether it be remembering the past, looking ahead to the future or living in the moment; it is our hope that our songs serve the listener in each situation in different ways.
Wanting to explore music as a universal language of its own, we set out to sit and compose songs as they flowed. The EP "Solas" is actually one song, broken up into 5 individual parts. When played together our hope is the EP sparks the imagination of every listener. Yet the songs have been designed in a way that if they are listened to individually the listener can still enjoy them.
Overall, we write music in a way that hopefully works as a soundtrack for the listeners own life.

'Sacred Spaces' the new album by Michael Whalen, now featuring on Moon Phase Radio.
“This new project describes my spiritual journey,” says two-time Emmy® award winner and Grammy®-nominated composer Michael Whalen about his new electronic ambient album Sacred Spaces.
“Over the past decade, I realized I am 100 percent responsible for whatever my relationship with a higher being might be. When I first had the idea to do an album about the search for a higher power, I was imagining an orchestral project — a symphony. There was a point where I ran out of gas, maybe because part of me didn’t really want an answer. A couple of years ago, I revisited some themes I’d written and thought that maybe I should do this as an electronic project.”
The result is Sacred Spaces, at once a tour de force of haunting melodies over percolating rhythms and a musical expression of Whalen’s personal reconciliation with a universal puzzle: The existence and nature of the divine.
“Sacred Spaces is the expression of something that is impossible to say,” he adds. “Music can go to a lot of places words can’t. This is that record.”

'Wink of An Eye' the new album by Joe Olnick, now featuring on Moon Phase Radio.
Guitarist & producer Joe Olnick explores new directions in modern instrumental music. With seven albums of independently released original material, his work generally falls into two different genres: rock/funk/jazz with his band as well as solo ambient. Two singles he produced with his band hit the US college radio charts ("Funky Traffic" and "Downtown").
His solo ambient album, Wink of An Eye, was released worldwide on April 24, 2020. Celebrating the 5-year anniversary of the "Ambient Class of 2015", when Joe Olnick released three ambient albums in a single year, Wink Of An Eye takes short sections from one of those albums (Bright Paintings) and completely transforms the pieces into space music that goes even deeper, utilizing advanced processing techniques only recently made available. Surprisingly, there are no keyboards or synthesizers anywhere, despite the synth-like soundscapes that this album creates. The original sources included Olnick on guitar, with Stew Bradley adding some subtle percussion. Mastered by the legendary Robert Rich.
According to Olnick, "This was one of the most unique projects that I've ever worked on, and I'm very pleased with it. Taking what had been a guitar-based rock/ambient hybrid and radically treating it to the point that it became something artistically unique on its own (as ambient space music) was unexpected, but the tools available to the modern musician are evolving. I think it's important to relentlessly keep searching for new sounds, and new ways of working."

New album 'Inspirations' by Mark Freshwater now featuring on Moon Phase Radio
Growing up with a trombone playing jazz/pop combo leader Dad and a versatile piano playing Mom gave Mark a lot of exposure early on to music. Mark studied piano under his mom during elementary school and enjoyed playing duets with BOTH of his grandmothers. Working through choirs and folk groups in the early 60’s and on into rock bands in the late 60’s and 70’s there are many early influences in his music from classical to heavy rock. He sang in party bands in the 80’s and bought his first grand piano in 1988. During the 90’s, he played keyboards and sang in 2 Christian Praise bands (Cleveland, OH and Catalina, AZ).
More recently Mark reunited with his college rock band in Pittsburgh and helped produce a studio album project in 2012. On the heels of that, Mark has produced 8 instrumental CDs of original piano music. His unique stylings reflect influences from the many genres of his background. Two of his 8 albums are heavily New Age influenced (Biosphere/2013 and Native Connections/2018)

What inspires a writer, an artist, a musician?
"Well there are many sources of course and as a songwriter, for me personally, it has been mostly people, places and experiences; in other words, life itself. My eighth album is entitled “Inspirations” and was released in June of 2019. It includes 14 songs composed and arranged over a period of two and a half years and turned out to be a labor of love. I transposed 7 of the songs and published a songbook by the same title".

New album 'Fleur de Vie' by Jacques Y. Fafard now featuring on Moon Phase Radio
Jacques Y. Fafard from Quebec, Canada is a producer, arranger, sound engineer and a multi-instrumentalist of some 28 years. He plays keyboards, guitar, bass, drums, flute, didgeridoo and percussion.
Currently he composes therapeutic music with frequencies (Hz) that are added to the music to reduce stress, insomnia, depression, anxiety, agitation and promote calm, harmonization, concentration, rebalance, meditation amongst other positive health benefits. New album 'The Nation of One' from VEiiLA, now featuring on Moon Phase Radio
Electronic duo VEiiLA from Saint-Petersburg, Russia blend downtempo and left-field house with emotional female vocals creating atmospheric melancholic music. VEiiLA's eclectic (to some degree) sound is fairly compensated with unified monochrome visual style and mysterious asceticism in public statements. Over the past couple years VEiiLA have opened the local shows of Alex Clare, Kosheen, The Neighborhood and shared the stage with Above & Beyond, ATB, Nathan East and others participating in large international festivals. It's a documented log of my loosing hope, loosing trust to or in people, descending into shadows of despair, failing to find a place in my own family, feeling lost, lonely, with nothing but my inner voice at my side and finally recovering, standing up on my feet, reflecting, paying all the sentiments and bidding farewell to the past. Is it different now, did it get better? It doesn't matter, it's a new page in a new book. I'm moving on. I'm leaving behind my failures and victories and leaving this album as a logbook of a wrecked ship. One may find there a story of a deadly storm and one may find a treasure map.
