Tower Hamlets Cemetery Open Day
Come on down between 10am and 4pm and try your hand at some forgotten woodland crafts such as pole lathe
turning, green woodwork and willow weaving in the peaceful surroundings of this unique, inner-city Local Nature Reserve.
Other exhibits include a Bouncy Castle, live music, facepainting, and fun and games. Why not take a tour around the
Park in a Rickshaw.
Guided walks will also be offered during the day to take people around the park.
Food and refeshments will be available.
This is a guaranteed great family day out and all woodland craft exhibits are FREE!

Saturday 4th July 2009, Kensal Green Cemetery Open Day
Cemetery tours with a general introduction to Kensal Green. Catacomb tours of the vaults beneath the Anglican
Chapel. Specialist tours including The Great and the Good, and Ne'er-Do-Wells and the Friends' bookstall at the Anglican
Chapel.

Including many historic hearses and other vehicles, demonstrations of memorial masonry, stalls, exhibitions
of alternative coffins and electronic book of remembrance, rides in a motorcycle/sidecar hearse, organ recitals in the chapel,
and tours of the crematorium, opens 10.30am.

Starts at 11 am and closes at 5 pm [last tour at 4 pm], guided tours of
sections of the catacombs, a guided walk focusing on military graves, a guided walk looking at the trees in the cemetery,
organ recitals in the church, displays of burial records, Victorian Funerary Jewellery, model hearses and funerary items,
children's activities and refreshments.
